Spent the weekend here with a few friends and had a great time. The pool is clean and the seasonals are friendly. You can as well kayak up the river to a swimming hole and swing from rope swing into the river. Great time!!
A beautiful place to camp, we were right on the Grand River and watch the boats go in and out from the Highlands. Extremely nice people that care for the grounds. Will visit again! Alan and Christine Hall
We went there a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The campground itself is very clean, as well as the bathrooms. The bathrooms smelled like they had just been cleaned all day. I witnessed staff cleaning the bathrooms not just in the morning but in the evening as well. The updates that where done to the bathrooms are beautiful and are some of the best I've never seen at a campground. The pool was absolutely beautiful and the water was crystal clear. The kids enjoyed playing on the playground and the arcade as well, but their favorite was the pool. We enjoyed laying in the sun watching the kids play and make friends with other kids in the pool. They also have an ice cream shop in the store with a good variety of yummy treats on those hot summer days. We needed fire wood and saw a stand with a sign for it by the store but there was no wood so I went into the store and asked if they had any more wood and they did the staff apologized and quickly went and got more wood for us. The seasonal campers were also so friendly and very helpful they made us feel right at home. if we had any questions about anything they were willing to answer them for us. Conestoga also has canoes, kayaks and golf carts that you can rent. The views of the grand river are stunning and the sunrise and sunsets will take your breath away. I will highly recommend this campground to anyone and we will definitely be camping there again soon!
I normally don't leave reviews, but this campground was extremely disappointing. My husband and I made a reservation here to go camping for our anniversary weekend. We arrived after the office was closed and found a note with our name on it showing where our site was. We drove by it 3 times, not believing that there could possibly be a site right there. They had our tent site jam packed between two RVs. I have been camping my whole life and have never seen such a crowded campsite. Kind of defeats the purpose of camping! I agree with the previous poster that the sites are about the size of a large bedroom. We would've barely had room to park our truck and have room for the tent, I can't imagine trying to fit a camper! We turned around and left and camped somewhere else for the weekend. If you're looking to get away and have any privacy at all, I would not recommend this campground.
They're in need of some updates but provide an awesome atmosphere for family and friends. There is direct access to the Grand River for water activities but their pontoons were out of order. Call ahead for reservations as they do fill up fast. Their setup is quaint, relaxing, and just the right amount of commotion. There is a nice pool and playground at the main clubhouse as well as a fun little arcade. We will come again next year!
